Overview Each year that you run your Joy School, you'll need to pay a franchise fee for using the Joy School lesson plans plus you'll need to pay "dues" for each child that participates. You may also opt to purchase music CDs and valuesparenting.com memberships for the families participating in your program. Most Joy Schools charge parents for their Joy School dues (and CDs if they wish) as part of their registration fees. Scroll down to the bottom for a printer-friendly full pricing list. Franchise Fee Your "franchise fee" gives you, the teacher, on-line access to the lesson plans each year. For your first year, we supply you with the music CDs that go with the lesson plans as part of your franchise fee (should you need a new set of CDs at some point, you pay just $35 for the full set of 10 music CDs or $5 per CD if you just need to replace one or two CD's). Your franchise fee is based on how long you have been running a Joy School. After your first two years of operating your Joy School, when you will have had access to the full two years-worth of lesson plans, your franchise fee goes down. Per-Students Dues In addition to your franchise fee, you will need to pay "dues" for each child who participates in your program. Dues start at $50/child/year but the amount you pay for dues is based on the size of your group (the larger the group, the less you pay per child). Dues are typically rolled in to the registration fee that Joy School operators charge to all parents when they register their children. Click here to see the current pricing levels for dues. Optional: Music CDs Music is a big part of Joy School. Most programs purchase a set of music CDs for each child using money collected as part of their program's registration fee (we offer discounts for combined dues/music CDs - see price list here). Other programs simply offer parents the option of purchasing the CDs. As part of the registration forms we provide, there is a CD order form that parents can fill out to order and pay for their CDs if you do not opt to purchase them for your whole group. There are 10 CDs that contain the music that go with all the Joys addressed in the lesson plans. The full 10-CD set costs $35. The children love the music CDs and almost all parents opt to purchase the CDs - especially once their children start coming home singing the fun songs they've learned at Joy School! Optional: Valuesparenting.com Memberships Finally, we ask that all Joy School operators urge the families in their program to purchase a lifetime membership to Valuesparenting.com. A membership to this website offers wonderful ideas for enhancing all that their child is learning in Joy School as well as many other practical ideas and programs to help parents be the parents they really want to be. They get a special discount to the website when they sign up through you and you get a small commission on the memberships that you sell. A regular lifetime membership to Valuesparenting.com costs $50 but parents can get this membership through you for $40. Then you pay us $35 for the membership and keep the extra $5 as your commission. We provide you with forms for parents to sign up for Valuesparenting.com. |
